We have a plan!

On Friday we took Parker to the Scottish Rite Hospital to see if there was anything we could do for his wee leg.  We arrived at the hospital thinking that the leg just wasn't built strong enough for any kind of prosthetic and that we were probably looking at him being in a wheelchair or some kind of other fun contraption they had come up with.  We were wrong!  Parker will walk!!!  He is having surgery in February to amputate part of the small foot on his wee leg.  He will keep the heal to serve as a cushion on his new nub leg.  A couple of weeks after the surgery we will go back and have him fitted for his first prosthetic.  We are very excited that Parker will be able to walk, especially as early as summer.  We are sad to loose his cute little foot in the process but realize that comfortably fitting into a prosthetic is more important than keeping his sweet foot.  We are looking forward to taking the first step on the journey to helping Parker walk!
